Hello All, I’m trying to get an old Index Basic working with my Mac Mini. I have an USB 2 Paralle. I have installed a USB 2 Serial driver to try the serial route. In the system report; That it sees an IEEE-1284 device and has this listing.
IEEE-1284 Controller: Product ID: 0x2305 Vendor ID: 0x067b (Prolific Technology, Inc.) Version: 2.00 Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec Manufacturer: Prolific Technology Inc. Location ID: 0x14400000 / 2 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 100 In linux I would now echo something to the /dev listing but I don’t know if it is listed in /dev. The add printer tool doesn’t allow you to specify USB or Parallel connection. What on earth does it mean by offering fax, ip and window? Does anyone use an old parallel or serial on a new Mac?
