Hi Mary I’m quite behind on mail, so my apologies for that.
Congratulations! I hope you have lots of fun and productivity with your iPhone. We here all use iPhone 5S’s as well, and we really like them. Lynne did experiment a little with Android on a Samsung Galaxy S4 copy, meaning it was an unbadged version of the S4. She found she could use it, and has kept it because of the fact that it has a larger screen and can accommodate twin Micro-SIM cards. But it’s currently put away in a cupboard because she just couldn’t get away with it like she does with iOS and the iPhone. We also have a couple of iPads, a first generation model and a third generation one. To be honest, we see no reason to upgrade. But yes, the future of Apple’s accessibility is very exciting and it’s great to see you become a part of it. Given your line of work, I’m sure you’ll find it useful. Some people like the touch-type mode, others hate it. It really depends upon your individual circumstances. Have you tried Flexi? I think that’s it’s name. Also, have you tried dictating to your iPhone? I actually haven’t done that as yet but I’m told it works very well for the most part. Which reminds me, I still haven’t got Dragon Dictate sorted out on the Mac. I must do that before we start back at school on 2 September. Look forward to finding out more about your new adventure. I did find your messages really helpful and informative, but decided that the only reason I'd use that iPad was because someone was paying me, namely work. But after hearing about all the iOS improvements and amazing aps that keep coming out, I finally took the plunge and got an iPhone 5s just over a week ago. The first thing that my Facebook friends did was tell me to turn on touch typing because it would save me so many headaches. Come to discover, touch typing was giving me headaches. The double tap thing honestly works best for me now, and I've been able to download quite a few aps and books. I even experimented with pictures (I took 12 very interesting ones, including a selfie, before I got a picture of my cat Daisy). Anyway, I know this email has no real value, except to say I understand why the Apple community is so excited about the products and to say that since I do now actually use an iPhone, I might contribute from time to time.
