That could take you several weeks at which point you could easily
have several crashes. Toast has session burning which is _far_ more
reliable than DirectCD backups. How much information are you going to
be backing up in, say, a week? And how much of that information will
you want a year from now? Using a Zip drive may work out better for
you in some cases, especially if you want to make any changes to the
data.
An alternative that you didn't mention, and that may not even be
feasible for you, is to backup to an iDisk at mac.com. If you have
someone you trust with your password, you could have them download
and burn the information for you to CD periodically. As for keeping
the information private, you could always encrypt the files before
uploading. This might be the cheapest way to backup depending on many
dinners you need to buy for the other person.
