Suggestion #1: In Explorer go to the View menu - Character set - Western (Latin) [you probably have some other character set selected]
If that doesn't work: Copy the Favorites.html file in Preferences:Explorer folder to somewhere safe, and delete the folder. Run Explorer, quit Explorer, copy Favorites.html back to the newly created Explorer preferences folder and re-open Explorer. This should fix your problem Re-installing Explorer shouldn't fix anything since it's "auto fixing".
