Hi all,

Thanks for the responses. I was asked for more details.

I don't know much about all this Internet protocols stuff, but I'm learning a
bit more every day.

The family computer is the PM7200/90 system 8.6.
The work computer is a Windows 98 PC. :-(

>From PC to Mac is easy, I use the IP Configuration program to release the IP
address before the switch. My problem is from Mac to PC. I was told that system
9.1 has the "TCP/IP Options" control panel you can set-up to release the IP
address when you shut down. I don't have this option.

I think I want the DHCP server to release the lease, and not wait for it to do
its maintenance. From what I gather, I think the server remembers the address of
the NIC card. Resetting the modem didn't do it.

I want to (once in a while) switch back and forth from the family computer to
the work computer. I don't want to access the Internet on both at the same time.
I don't want to pay the extra $9.95 + taxes a month for an extra IP address.

My Internet Service Provider is Rogers, I have a (ISP provided) Terayon cable
modem.

Thanks again.
