Hi,
I'm new to the list, and have just picked up an 8500/80/2GB/CD plus a whack
of accessories. Its running on OS9 right now, and is a 604/132MHz machine. I
want
increase Ram by adding 2 X 128MB Dimms, but the 8500 looks like a real bear
to add
RAM to, after having checked out some of the documentation on the Internet.
Anybody
have the name of a good service provider that has experience doing this in
the Calgary
area? I'm not a newbie at computers in general, but the motherboard removal
on an
8500 is almost unbelievably bad, especially with warnings regarding breaking
off capacitors,
and having to remove what reads like half the cabling inside the machine.
Kostas
P.S. Anybody know what screws are used to secure a hard drive to the sled? I
need to find
some, as I have just added a 9 GB drive at SCSI address 2. Works fine, just
don't like unsecured
drives floating around the inside of the machine. Thanks, and sorry about
the many questions.
