I agree. Different stroke for different folks, but I welcome the changes
that OS X's Dock brought to the Mac. It is WAY more efficient, as ALL you
app and windowing functions are now at this "one stop". Instead of mousing
to the left for the Apple menu, and mousing to the right for the App menu,
it's all in one place. Ditto with Winowshading, which, if you have several
windows shaded, can be a mess in itself. No, the Dock won me over, lock
stock and barrel.

I can't recall if you could do this in OS 9, but in OS X you can use
shift-command-tab to move through the open apps in reverse order (right to
left). And speaking of switching around, built into OS X is also an open
document or window switcher: Command-Tilde. Very handy!
