I never said it was buried in the app. Apple wants to keep the music industry happy right now...
Why don't they remove networking from the OS X as well, I've heard that some people *actually* copy files across networks! Imagine that! People will copy files and music with or without iTunes. The *vast* majority of users that streamed their music over iTunes did it solely to listen, not pirate. There are much easier methods to download music.
