The cheap stuff is definitely priced similar to US stuff in Toronto --
competition is fierce for the low-quality commodities. Unfortunately, most
of the competition around here is definitely limited to the cheap stuff. On

Plus, right now nearly every retailer is trying to capitalise on the
exchange rate, even on the new stuff. And, I imagine that as soon as the
exchange rate changes in the other direction, they'll raise their prices a
lot quicker than they'll lower them :(

Until Canadian retailers adjust their prices to reflect the actual exchange
rate I suspect a lot of business will be going south of the border (of
course, that'll only last for as long as the US can keep its prices down or
there's US stock... since it's the US dollar that's tanked and not the Cdn $
that's risen in value).
