Naming products while in development is nothing new and not exclusive to
Apple. Microsoft names all of its beta versions of Windows after Canadian
Rocky mountains: "Whistler", "Blackcomb", er... "Longhorn"??!

Apple has just chosen to market them with this "predator cat" image.
