I think that the thing about user groups, in general, is that what you get out of them tends to be somewhat related to what you put into them. Why people just show up and expect to be "impressed" by the work of others always gets me. The thing to do is contribute. Do your bit and make the community effort impressive.
...of course I may be just reading this wrong-like...
