My take on faxing in OS 10.3.2 is that it is rudimentary and not really satisfactory mainly because there is no way of telling whether it is going thru correctly or received at the other end.

I had a similar situation where I had to fax a revised GST return. It was impossible to tell whether it had gone thru as it terminated very fast. Finally I used a 7100 with Global Fax on it and the process of sending was obvious and transparent.

You can get some idea of what's happening with an OS X fax by clicking the printer utility in the Dock and it shows progress - sometimes. But all in all it's a pretty mickey mouse set up that needs a major overhaul, especially if you're faxing important material. Or buy a dedicated fax program.
