Unless there's a phone on that hidden jack I can't see how it would 
affect anything.
Maybe someone else know for sure, but it seems a lot of work for maybe 
nothing.

ps the way it work at my place: the line comes in the basement, is 
split right away, one unfiltered to modem, one filter split to to 3 
different phones. Maybe unconventional, maybe even unrecommended, but 
never any problem.
