Been there, the installer (applescript) wont function properly. Easy
enough to get around, install the bootx extension and cp, from the
"settings folder" in the bootx folder copy your preferred setting into
your systems preference's folder after renaming it to Bootx Settings.
The manual will explain what kernel image or init you need to copy. I'd
do a text install as a graphic install failed on my machine as it did
with YDL. You will also need to choose a scsi driver, I found the mesh.o
worked rather than the mac53c94 as some people recommend.
Well, I wish you luck, Mandrake is some what harder to install than YDL.
I dumped it after I found had a keymap problem that I couldn't track
down in runlevel 5 but which worked fine at init 3 other than that I
prefer it to YDL
