It was using the format command. With MSDOS 6.22, it does not list a
percentage when partitioning the disk.

I have RealPC 1.10 also around here somewhere. I'll try that and VPC 3 to
see what will do it.

I've done ctrl-alt-delete on the card to reboot.

I had a 40GB hard disk with 3 partitions. The first one had Windows and
some accounting applications. The second had development tools on it. The
third was a scratch partition. I deleted the scratch partition, booted the
Mandrake CD and told it to auto-partition the remaining space. Mandrake
would start ok, but forget about 3D games - about 3-4fps on a TNT2 Vanta.
When I started 2000, it took a little time to load, then when Windows
Explorer was started it would never finish finding the drives.

The 2000 machine is sitting at work now. I bought a 256MB PC133 DIMM for it
(it's a P3-600). Windows 2000 installed OK, the updates installed OK. I
try to install QuickBooks Pro 99, then the next time it restarts it
bluescreens for 1.2 of a second and restarts. I've tried an Athlon 1200,
but it restarts as soon as Visual Basic 5 is installed.

I also have a K6-2 500 with a new 256MB PC100 DIMM, with other problems.
Argh! Through all of this my 9500 works just great! :> So do my slower
PCs, like a P2-300 Sony Vaio and a Gateway 2000 with a Celeron 300. Very
strange....

I've got 2 4.3GB IBM drives. So far they have been used in a variety of
Macs without incident. My 8500 has always had its quirks - it was not in
good condition when I got it. I may look for a 75/7600 for a replacement.
