Hello, I've had an iMac at home for a few years now, and I'm about to buy a new computer. I've recently gone back to school, and I have some class software for PC's only that I'm wondering if I can run on a Mac.
1) I may take Java programming in the fall. Everyone I've ever known who has taken the class has used a PC. The info online that I've seen for Java on Mac is for experienced Java programmers who are used to programming on PC's, who are Mac newbies. I'm sure the dev tools made available to us for the class will be written for Windows. Is it possible to use them in VPC on a Mac, or will I need to use Windows on a PC for this class? 2) For another class, I use Multisim 2000 Electronic WorkBench, for Windows only, at school. I'd like to be able to use the crippled version that came with my textbook at home. Does anyone know if this can be run on VPC? I guess my broader question is, how closely does VPC emulate an actual PC, for software beyond MS Office? If I do get a new Mac, how much extra RAM, etc should I plan on to support VPC? --Doug __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
