Thank you for your answer. You have addressed my concern about whether things besides Windows software can compile/run on an emulator. For my student projects, execution speed won't be a big deal. Especially compared to the time I'll spend looking for things like missing punctuation marks.
The dongle problem won't arise with my already "crippled" version of EWB. The CD's that come with our circuit analysis text will allow students to make calculations, but not save anything. Only the licensed version on the network at school can do that.
I was asking because I've read that Quicken, or one of the other bookkeeping packages for Windows only, won't run on VPC. Are there any other categories of software like that, or is Quicken the exception?

I can check for QuickBooks/QuickBooks Pro and Peachtree Accounting.
I've tried Peachtree on it with no problems, but have not tried QB yet.
