Western Union are asking 20 pounds to make a transfer. so it really is a non starter. a friend of mine did buy some via another friend in the States but two were faulty and he has not had them returned as yet. failed Gauge Pro tests and crashed his Mac completely. on the subject of trans-atlantic returns, i had a hell of an experience with Other World Computing over an iXmicro video card that did not work under OS 9. it was a problem that was widely known and yet they make no reference to it. [ i bought a XLR8 ZIF carrier and chip at the same time that waws great ]. in the end i just gave it away. first, i sent it back at my cost and wanted money back/credit note, then they lost it, said they had not trace, then sent another without asking if i wanted one after ahell of a fight they eventually accepted it but by that time i was burnt out and gave up. there are quite a few places selling Voodoo 5500 cards for mac at 50 quid here. i spent way more than that in the end for a half assed card and ended up with nothing. add in your telephone calls and time... so buying and returns trans-atlantic are a problem. but is it worth the risk in comparison to be ripped off in Old Lilmey. ... may be if you are lucky.
