Lol! Is this for a router? One of the easier things to do to make a router is to get an old pc, 386 or above should be fine as long as it has about 16mb of ram, and run linux on it. There are a few linux distros that come set up as a router already and all you need is a floppy disk, you make the floppy disk off the internet and then the router boots from that and it is all set up for you. Freesco is on of those.
This means you can remove all the harddiscs from it, and the sound card, video card, keyboard, everything you don't use and the power consumption will be a lot less than a lot of other options. Of course you can now get very cheap routers that are stand alone boxes, creative labs make one I think for about 100 pounds, and I bet there are lots and lots of others out there. The stand alone boxes will probably use even less power. This is worth considering, because people tend to leave their routers on all the time and they can quickly save in electricity bills the cost of the stand alone router!
