I have downloaded OS 7.1 and OS 7.5 direct from Apple. The former, in Custom Install, does not differentiate between LC, LCII and LC III. It just says LC. It also includes Mac IIs and Quadras. Is the solution to download a new OS?
I also have a LaserWriter Select. The driver I downloaded was for a Select 300. This does not work with OS 7.1 - it only works with OS 7.5. Francois says the RAM in the machine is "not that big" but does not say how much it has. My LC only has 4Mb. I print by saving, telling it to print and then closing as much as possible down. It works. If the machine has a cassette why does it need a manual feed too? To print envelopes? Can't it manage without a manual feed? Cleaning? Until recently I had a Plus, SE, Classic, Classic II and LC. I must admit to mostly using WD40, but otherwise used Flash liquid on a wrung out cloth.
