Try looking on ebay. These printers pop up every week and usually sell for a
pittance. Same with a serial cable. What I do is to buy a trashed printer,
wait a few weeks for a canon or Apple printer to surface and then coble both
together. Usually requires patience, screwdriver and superglue.

PS have you tried looking on the Canon site for a PC equivalent of this
printer - may detail known faults.
