I wouldn't recommend a USB based ADSL modem even if you didn't want to share your DSL connection with another computer as they have trouble with drivers and maintaining the power supply through a USB socket. I would recommend one of the many ADSL routers that are available. Dabs.com seem to stock the cheapest one around which uses a conexant chipset and has four ethernet outputs which enables you to share your connection independently on each computer.
