Don't bother - RJ-11 to UK cables are so cheap from Maplin or Rapid Electronics it ain't worth the effort, so to are RJ-11 phone cables. All you need is (for an Apple or other 56k modem) a RJ-11 to UK cross over modem lead, probably �1.50 + the VAT from Rapid.
