Hi,
I have user accounts and email accounts with
macunlimited.net,btinternet.com,macmail.com and freeserve with freeserve
as my main provider of unlimited access.
My macunlimited.net account (formerly appleonline.net but Apple
didn't like it) is just pay as you go so it's free to sign up and you pay
the connection time although I think they do an unlimited account as
well. They provide a very good and easy to use service especially for mac
users with excellent info on how to setup common mac comms.
The btinternet.com account is also pay as you go now but I used to
use their unlimited access until I changed to freeserve - they provided a
good service originally but now they have placed a restriction on the
unlimited access of 150 hrs per month - at which point I believe charges
are levied on the basis of pay as you go - not exactly unlimited....
The macmail.com account is a web based email account and you can
access your mailbox with your browser or have it sent via your smtp
server to your email client - there are no charges for the account.
As I remember (couple of years ago) freeserve is quite easy to set
up and run in OS8/8.1 - you just need to set it up manually by putting in
the domain names, server adresses and the connection info - and they have
a seperate helpline for mac users. With a simple connection to freeserve
I can collect my mail from all of the accounts.

     Cheers

     Pete Devlin
