Dear Stuart,

Thank you for this but it does not seem to have helped me much. If I can
find 64mb SIMMs I will try it but my chances of coming across such beasts
seems difficult.

I am interested to hear that you got a 6100 for a couple of quid! My 7100
cost me 500 in the early part of 1999 from Second Byte and was my first
PowerMac. The Monitor was bought at local auction for 110 and the
MacPicasso was 150 or so from, Ithink, Gordon Harwood. The Sonnet G3 was
about 175 and I thought they were the Biz. True all the rest only cost me
pennies from Ebay etc. but I think that the initial cost has prompted me to
consider this machine as my No.1. I am still more impressed with it than my
Indigo iMac (bought new and I keep it at the shop where it impresses my
customers - although the screen lets it down) and the Beige G3 which is
alongside the 7100 in my office and only finds real use as a CD burner. The
other relics I keep in good order and use sometimes when I feel nostalgic.
The PowerMacs I sell from time to time to help the business.

The 7100 runs 9.0.4 very well and you should try it. I can give you a Copy
if you want. It will be slower than 7.1 but should be more attractive.

If you know of a source of 64Mb 72 pin SIMMs please let me know.

Regards
Don

PS Software is something that I have an abundance of. I don't think there is
an application and version I am short of. If you need anything just let me
know.
