I have been sent 2 attachments in MS Word with graphics - they're actually templates whch I am supposed to use for a scripting job.

MacLinkPLus (version 12) just can't manage them.

It translates in the usual way - but starts very sluggishly, and then I get an error message saying not enough memory to complete. I increased MLP's memory massively in case this was what was going wrong, but no change.

I do get an icon of the supposedly translated file, but again when I try to open it, I get a not enough memory message.

When I do Get Info on the file, it tells me it is 2.4 MB - but in its untranslated form, it's just 100 kB.

I forwarded the attachments to a PC, which opened them just perfectly <grrrr>.

I have been to the DataViz (makers of MLP) website to try to find out what to do, and there is not even a hint in the list of troubleshooting Qs.

I should say I am using an old Mac with OS 8.5, and I am asking MLP to translate to ClarisWorks. However, it has always managed to translate ok before.
