hi all
I'm thinking of adding DVD to my g4/400 yikes and wonder if anyone on this list has any recommendations or advice for doing so.
I've found this drive for 150 USD but am trying to locate it in the UK
http://store.mcetech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc? Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MTOS&Product_Code=DVDR4XDT-D
- the only UK version i have found is 160 + VAT which makes it over twice as expensive as the US version although it is the same hardware.
I usually buy hdd's and the like from scan.co.uk and notice that there are some good priced DVD writers which are IDE.
Does anyone know of a compatibility list so i can find out whats tried and tested? ( i am currently wading through xlr8yourmac.com)
xlr8yourmac.com is about your best bet. Find a drive and then see if you can find it cheap in the UK. I dud that and got a really nice DVD/CD-RW for my B&W G3 that was bootable and worked with OS X disc burning - the works.
