Over the last few years I have upgraded and swapped a few HDs in my old
PM5500 and in friend's iMacs/
In every case I used Seagate Barracuda range - no regrets.
This was influenced by success stories from
<http://wwwxlr8yourmac.com>

However I am sure that any brand of anything has some bad apples in its line
and there are no certainties. If a HD line was bad I would expect to see
evidence at the above web site.
