With a new imac I find the modem keeps redialling after disconnection. Even if I have switched all applications off. I have to put the computer to sleep to stop it! I am on a dial up connection.
IN the network preferences I have selected 'automatically connct..' but this shouldn't cause the problem.
Any suggestions ?
I ran OS X jaguar before, of problems of this kind.
