I wish apple would take that registration bit out, as an IT manager I reinstall Mac's every day, having to fill in that bloody form is getting on my nerves.

Goodbye smug satisfaction, hello first installation query. This is the first time I've had an installation stop without any escape route...
iBook started up, asked for software install/restore disks for I presume
OSX Jaguar (I have Panther upgrade disks waiting nearby). OK so far.
Asked for name, address, etc. for registration. No problem.
Connected to Apple via ADSL router (first time I've done it this way...always via dial-up before) - saw "connected" message. Now it's stuck at "Disconnecting". The cancel button's greyed out.
Restart the machine and see what happens? :-(
