Can I replace the stock HD in my Lombard G3/400 PowerBook by using a small
screwdriver instead of one of these 'torx' things that I don't have? Does
anyone have any specific recommendations for a 5400 or 7200 speed HD and a
UK supplier? I have limited funds so the best value for money will appeal to
me :-)
A 40GB 5400 Hitachi drive from OWC will cost you $158 including FedEx shipping; with Customs charges that'll be about �98 total (and you'll get a free screwdriver). UK price is around �105 + p&p. A 60GB 5400 is roughly �115 OWC/�145 UK and a 60GB 7200 �174 OWC/�185 UK inclusive.
