Euro symbol causes reject (was Re. Price strategy for airportexpress)

I had about five attempts sending the last message but each time it was 
rejected with "Your message cannot be posted. It is composed using the 
'windows-1252' character set, and this list accepts ISO-8859-1 only".

Eventually I tried removing the Euro symbol I'd included and it went 
through OK. Has anyone else experienced this?
