Hi,

I use an upgraded 8500 running 9.1 at work for recording music, choral
singing and the like.

I can trouble shoot it and get it out of most scrapes easy enough in
9. I have OS X at home and regularly get stuck with things not working
properly or at all. And everything is in the wrong place! Ack.

I can't upgrade the 8500 to OS X, so to switch work would have to buy
a G4 and upgrade my music programs. around #3000. and half the more
fancy music programs / plugins are OS 9 only.

on a similar note, I have a G4 at home, runs 9.1 happily via an old
19" beast of a monitor at something silly like 74.9 Hz refresh rate. OS
X won't lock on to the monitor, despite the fact that OS 9 does. (stock
ATI video card).

Is there any way to force it to use a particular size and refresh rate
that it isn't offering in the displays system preference thing? I have 2
monitors so can mirror the displays and faff with it.

  Rob
