Daniel,
I have the BT-Yahoo 512kbps subscription working with my iMac
With Mac OS 10.3?

Yup, 10.3.4 to be precise.

If the modem they supply doesn't, list it on ebay and buy one that does.
I'm told that 10.3 will not work with usb ADSL modems.

IMHO it would be pretty silly if it didn't. Where did you hear that anyway? There was a piece of software to install but I rather expected that, came with the modem, well, the one that came with the modem was for 10.2, but there was a download for the new version on their site.

Roger,
I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work, except that the=20
supplied modem might not be Mac-compatible so you just need to buy your=20=
modem.
I'm told 10.3 won't work with any USB ADSL modem.

Works with mine. :-) Alcatel Speed Touch USB.

Matt,
Basically, any standalone hardware based solution with ethernet ports should
be cool.
That's why I'd love to hear from anyone with the BT Broadband Basic, working on a mac with OS 10.3.

That would be me again. Except I have the BT-Yahoo 512kbps option. ;-)

Steve,
Been using a BT Voyager 2000 wireless ADSL router/modem for over a year
with no probs, the line was just upgraded to 1mb today and all still
works just fine.
Are you on 10.3? Were you on Broadband basic?

If you have a separate router then the computer and OS has very little to do with it. Thats why I want one, I dislike mum and sister coming into my room to turn the iMac on to get internet... and if they have to come in and turn it on anyway to get the internet, why bother booting up their own machine when they can use mine? Grr.
