Not sure I understand this. I have BT Business broadband (via satellite) and I have BT email accounts and other eMail accounts (such as the one I am using here) and they all work fine. Why would you want to use the BT SMTP server for non-BT accounts?
I have .Mac, which requires me to use my ISPs SMTP server to send e-mail from this e-mail address, I also have another e-mail account that is e-mail only.
I think most ISP server security requires that the return address tallies with the send address as default. Maybe I missed something earlier....
No other SMTP server I have ever used requires the sending address to match the users account. I believe it is actually possible for you to buy BT over on this now though, certainly if you use business broadband.
