fine on there (albeit a fairly early 1.2 version). Here's where I've come
unstuck, however. I've gathered all sorts of info from the Netgear router -
IP addresses, SSID, IPSubnet, MAC addresses, you name it ... but how, in
simple terms, do I get the iMac's Airport software configured right? And
which info do I need from the router?
First, ensure Airport is turned on (i know but it's always best to cover all the bases!), it is toggleable as it does draw a lot of battery power on laptops so it's good to be able to deactivate it.. Provided your wireless network is working OK, it should be picked up automatically by the Mac, mine certainly is in OS X, and on my 3400c in 9.2.2, but I have never used Apple's own Airport Software in 9.2.2 (I use an IOXperts version as I have a non-Apple PCMCIA card). If it is not detected automatically then you should enter the name you have given to your network into the configuration and it should work from there. If your router is setup with WEP enabled, turn it off for now so it simplifies the operation a bit.
