At risk of labouring a point Roger, I can see you have firm views on the subject
and I think we are largely in agreement but when the OED gives two spellings as in:


pr�g' ramme, -am, n,.v.t.

they mean BOTH are accepted forms in UK English with the favoured example first, except with words where both spellings have an entry and each refers to the other.

The OED refers to it as  "usual"  to have the  -me form.

Out of interest, who sets the word restrictions on this list's server?
