But, now it's happened again. What the heck is going on?
I'm the only person using my system, no other computers in the house can go on line.

I didn't download anything wierd like video files etc.

Any ideas?

Fraid my line of repair is in the crappy network area so the vagaries of how BT measure usage are beyond my knowledge but I have started asking questions. My guess is that a mistake has been made somewhere I doubt that some one else has been using your connection. They didn't ask you for extra money did they?

I just want to say that how much I appreciate the way BT does
business. why - only this morning, BT generated 2 billable hours of
work for me by denying a BT Broadband customer access to its SMTP
server because they use Freeserve as an email host. They did the same
to someone else a few weeks ago because they choose to use a different
competitor for their email.

As far as I know BT only allows access to the Yahoo pop3 mail server on all broadband accounts and this may or may not be true for other isps anybody know different?

A few months ago, they generated an extra hour of work for me by
telling new customer their broadband login name was
[EMAIL PROTECTED] when in fact it was [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I could go on ... and on.

I'll go on for you
A few weeks ago I had a customer called Michael with the same problem you mention, Turned out that whoever set the account up at BT spelled his name Micheal this poor guy waited 3 weeks to get an engineer out because the ISP eventually told him that he must have a line problem.
