I would certainly consider that but this machine is getting a bit old and is 
due to be replaced/demoted to backup machine. Its probably not worth doing now. 

But that is very useful information for the future- my first inclination would 
be to partition the internal drive in my next machine.

Now THAT's interesting. I have been using DW 2.1 for OS 9 and believe it or not 
I just assumed, since I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere lately, that it had 
no OS X version. Well now I know. I've just ordered it for OS X. Meanwhile- 
from what i can gather on the Alsoft web site, it SEEMS to be saying that I can 
use the old version (2.1) on an OS X partition and it iwll not harm the disk. 
It does use the words "no matter what operating system". Do you think I can 
have a go with Disk Warrior 2.1 on my OS X tiger partition?
