There is a problem with cutting and pasting text to the LEM lists, even when your email client is set to 'plain text only'. I discovered this a while back when it took me several iterations of sending part messages to identify the bit of the text that the list software was rejecting. My provisional conclusion, however illogical. is that it was rejecting a particularsequence of 'plain text' characters.
