I found one mention of it in an Apple forum as an OT comment...

I had a look into the contents of the widget. (spotlight it, then "Show Package

Hey...I've found a use for Spotlight! ;-)

There's a script called parser.js that seems to be the thing responsible for
pulling data off a special feed at
 apple.com:
http://wu.apple.com/fq/applewidgets/forex.asp?key=tHisIsApplewidgeTs
The format's an XML file. It seems like the feed was updated recently (5.44pm
+8h as I write this at midni
ght on Saturday) whilst the data on it seems to be from 2nd November.

I'v submitted a bug report to Apple.

Fair play! Thanks for the help.....just looked at the XML file here and the "next update" element is for the 3rd of November, so I guess it's still broken.

Which begs the question...am I the only person using the currency converter widget? :-)

I was listening to one of the MacNotables podcasts recently where the host asked each of the guests (Mac experts) what their favourite Dashboard widgets were. All three ended up admitting that they hardly used it. Maybe the hype is wearing off.

The calculator is quite nice though...
