Thanks for the responses, that gives me something to work with.

Can anyone tell me- exactly what Firewire cable do I need to do this? IE
how many pins at each end, and what gender at each end? (This is to connect
an old G4 667 tower with a new G5 tower.)

I've been staring at the sockets and I can't make out what kind they are- I
seem to count 5 contacts in one, which can't be right. Apparently they
could be 4 pin or 6 pin, male or female. I assume the G4/5 series use the
same Firewire cable- I just need to know which one. Then I can order one.
TIA for any help with this!

PS I think I would probablky order one from Maplin, since they don't stick
a £10 shipping charge on everything- if you know anywhere better to order a
single cable or similar, I'd be interested to know.
