For Sale: FW800 model PowerMac G4 1Ghz, 512MB (single card), 120GB
7200 RPM + 60GB 5400 RPM, Radeon 9800 pro 128MB graphics card (for
amazing performance) with DVI and VGA, extra USB (it might be 2.0, I
don't actually know - system profiler lists it as USB High-Speed Bus)
and Firewire cards installed. The standard ports include FireWire
400, FireWire 800, USB, Gigabit Ethernet, modem, audio thingumy.
Also comes with boxed copy of Panther, original box (but no keyboard
or mouse), lovely condition. Really a beautiful Mac. Oh, and it comes
with an installed LG 16x DVD dual layer burner (as well as an
additional second DVD drive). The two hard drives sit on separate IDE
channels for extra performance when copying data between them. Note:
this is the model that does not boot into Mac OS 9!
Reason for sale: bought a cube :)
Price: £439. It is available from next Saturday (18th February) for
pick-up in London zone 1, or I can mail it to you for an extra £15-20
(extra for insurance). I have extra RAM for it listed on eBay
(userid: freshfiltered).
The Radeon 9800 Pro alone is worth over £100, and the machine is very
expandable. I was thinking of keeping it and hoping for a 7448 G4
upgrade to become available, but then I saw an amazing Cube on eBay
and splashed out on it. Now I need to clear some desk space.
This is going up on eBay this weekend, but I thought I would give you
guys first shout!
