Oh and i forgot to mention..
My brother gave me his Plus last year for nothing, with it i got an
external hard drive and a selection of app's including Adobe photoshop
2.5. Don't think it worked on the Plus last time i tried due to it not
having an FPU.
The drive was buggered so i replaced it with the only SCSI drive i had,
a 2GB Seagate. Ended up partitioning it into two 500mb partitions, i'm
not greedy just so long as it works. In addition i've got an iomega
floptical drive and an extra 800k floppy attached. I've also got the
Plus networked to my PC/Mac LAN using an Asante Mini EN/SC adaptor.
Originally it wouldn't work on the network, however i discovered i
could fool the auto sensing on the hub/router by flicking the Link
integrity switch on the Asante from on to off while it was on.
I've just installed OS 7.0 and currently giving it a test drive. It IS
noticeably slower then 6.0.8 but i'm not sure if it's too slow for me
to use, i have had an out of memory report when trying to run something
and the Plus has 4mb of ram.
I might switch back to 6.0.8 or perhaps make it dual boot, it's all for
fun.
Next on the cards will be an SE/30 as i think it will be perfect for
what i want, email and word processing. I find i get more done on my
plus then i do with the G4 500 at my desk.
