Hi,

Because some people propose new things on IZ and not here, most of us are not correctly informed about the work in progress.

PLEASE use [EMAIL PROTECTED] and/or IRC meetings when you want to propose something new or some important changes, and consider [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list as a complementary tool too, to avoid useless discussions on IZ, but only what is needed.

The most simple could consist in create one thread by subject.

Thank you

Now, what is planned ?

Already scheduled (or in the air):

Stop to assume Panther compatibility for 2.2 : this must be discussed HERE

Mox (and other) proposed :

- localisation of OOo launch script
- Universal builds
- (possibly) pkg install (re-work)
- building OOo without stlport (by using GCC stl) --> this is just something I'd like to test (Mox proposal)

New :

1) Create a central point for version numbers :

Summary : modify the code to replace manually version number changes ( 2.1 -> 2.2 for instance ) with something " automatic "

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=72835

2) Modify package name, including : TAG + MacOSX + Intel/PPC + install + localized language name

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=72908

I would add make a point about language packs... please complete with other changes you have in mind.

Last but not least, I wish a Merry christmas for all of you !!

Eric Bachard

P.S. : I'll sumarize current work in progress / news around native port next week
