Hi,
I'd like to add a couple of points to what Kojo Idrissa said:
* OpenOffice.org aqua will not run on Panther (10.3).
* Unless someone from the community decides to help with the coding,
there will be no new releases for Panther (10.3). (All the main
developers of OpenOffice.org on the Mac are using either Tiger (10.4)
or Leopard (10.5)).
For full information on installing X11, please see:

Are you using Panther (10.3) or Tiger (10.4)? I've used OOfice on
10.4, and
according to the OO download page, it works with 10.3. In either case,
you'll need to download the X11 window software to run OOffice.
It's not
very complicated. The info you need is here:

Good luck and welcome!

Hi I'm a tiger user and was wondering if OpenOffice will work on my
machine. I'm not extremely tech savvy but have enough resentment
for BG
to try to ditch MS Office altogether if possible.
Please advise if i can run OO on my machine.
Thanks for your help and everything you are doing for the Open Source
community/movement!
