I don't have DFX but I see the same behaviour. The first Open/Save Dialogue after starting OOo is not usable but the second one is. And this is every time you start OOo after you quited it. Nevertheless once Florian has fixed the initial bug of a currently more or less unusable native filepicker under Leopard and sometimes under 10.4.x we should see that the new filepicker is DFX compatible as well.
