Hi James

In lieu of any US version, I am using the GB version of 680m242 Build 9248, which has been bullet-proof so far. Only thing is how can I import my Options/Preferences from my other OOo versions which will stick? It's a pain to re-set Options whenever testing out new versions.

There should be a folder "OpenOffice.org2" or somewhat like that (depends on your version) in your user's ~/Library/Application Support/" folder. This one holds somewhere a folder "user" - and in this folder all your templates, user options and more of this stuff is stored.

This folder exists in many ways - OpenOffice.org-aqa for example for NOT to user and then perhaps damage your working preferences.

Knowing this, the rest is quite simple: Copy (NOT move!) the "user" folder which holds your options and replace the user folder of your test version, which may be inside "openOffice.org...whatsoever" folder or even perhaps in a .../2/ subfolder. (Re)start your test version and everything should be there. This works only if your test version once was started so the user folder initially was created.

To find out the path of the users folder you actually use: Take a look in Extras - Options - OpenOffice.org - Paths. The default path for mostly all option (i. e. templates) directs to the user folder used for this version.

Best would be you make a safety copy of your intact production user folder at first. You know - Mr. Murphy never sleeps.
