As you probably may have noticed, this years WWDC takes place from 9.
until 13. of June in Moscone Center, San Francisco.
For the lucky ones owning a ADC Premier Membership, tickets are free.
Concerning "the rest of us", Apple is donating two free tickets for OOo
Mac Porting community as Mr. Michel Sutter, Senior Partnership Manager,
WW Developer Relations-Europe promised to us on CeBit last week.
So we have to answer two questions:
1.) Who is willing, able and has the bless of the community to go there
2. How can those guys pay all the bills.
Concerning 1.) I would like to propose at least Eric Bachard (but I'm
not shure if he's willing ;-) ). Some more ideas of who shall represent
the community there? Discussion should be held but decision should be
made as soon as possible because air tickets normally are cheaper when
booked earlier.
Concernig 2.) I have verbally promise for an overall donation of
2.000,00 EUR (written request is on the way) from OpenOffice.org
Deutschland gem. e. V. in 2008. (This is not especially dedicated for
WWDC but may also be used to do some refunding for developers
participating on the planned 3rd Mac porting meeting.)
Also, OOo D. e.V. is willing to coordinate donations for Mac Porting on
their account. Important thing is that the money is explicitly dedicated
to "MacPorting" - not more (no "travel money" or "For WWDC" or something
else). So anybody has to write explicitly "For MacPorting" on the Money
transfer form or we will not get it.
German donators even can get a "Spendenbescheinigung" so they must not
pay taxes on the amount donated.

Last, we should ask community council to fund some more of the costs -
presenting native Mac Port on WWDC will be an excellent marketing
opportunity for OOo so maybe community council will give some additional
money for that?

may do a better job asking for this :-) ).
