Hello,
After some tries** to make the pretty OpenGL transitions from Radek
Dulik work on Mac OS X, I came to the conclusion that the most simple
way is to implement OpenGL , SalOpenGL .. AquaSalOpenGL as expected in
vcl, and not elsewhere.
The previous try (not working, for a lot of reasons) is
http://eric.bachard.free.fr/mac/aquavcl/patches/aqua_April2008/Canvas05/CGL01/i_canvas05_enable_openGL_macosx_CGL01.diff
(For Philipp: you're right, pView is NSView* , not void* like in the
patch, not up to date ;) )
To add more information, AGL API works with Carbon (means no future on
Mac OS X), CGL works only in fullscreen and (imho) only NSOpenGL + an
NSVIew, binded from some SalAquaOpenGL method can save us.
I have tried to described the plan for the implementation here
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/User:Ericb#OpenGL , and if ever
I'm not too wrong, I'll move everyting to a new wiki page, inside Aqua
Topic.
My question: is the plan plain wrong, or am I in the right direction ?
(what else ? :-) )
Thanks in advance for any help !
Eric Bachard
